Welcome to Class 3
During Term 1 class 3 learnt about Ancient Rome and Romans, soldiers and gladiators, how they lived and more recently, their invasion of Britain. We began the term with our own Roman day, where we found out how to march in battle formation and then re-enacted a virtual battle, seize the flag! It has been a busy term, we have made mosaic tiles, clay coil pots and coins (using what we found out about Roman numerals) and Roman shields. We wrote the recipe and instructions for Roman porridge, which we then made and ate, although some of us enjoyed it a little more than others!
Besides learning all about Rome in our lessons, we have also explored inspiring stories such as Lloyd Scott who raised money for The Lords Taverners, a charity that supports and provides children with sporting opportunities that might otherwise not be able to access them. We even held our own Zoom morning worship for the whole school and were lucky enough to be joined by Heidi Coleman, who organised the whole trip and spoke to us about her adventure and encouraged us all to never give up.
